Camping at Gaomiaoba Ecological Tourism Area
Gaomiaoba’s Shandi Starry Sky Camping Park draws numerous visitors with its distinctive outdoor camping experience.
Nestled along the 29th parallel, the park enjoys pleasantly cool temperatures even during Chongqing’s hot and humid summers, making it ideal for stargazing at night.
The campground features a dedicated service team providing on-site support, access to restrooms, a variety of children’s activities, and a compact park area for exploration.
Snack options abound, including local favorites like ice jelly (冰粉), shrimp like rice jelly (凉虾), cold noodles (凉面), spicy and sour noodles (酸辣粉), wolf-tooth potatoes (狼牙土豆), and hot dogs.
Each tent site costs 50 RMB, or visitors can opt for a one-day experience package for approximately 200 RMB per person, which includes a fully prepared tent with bedding and three meals.

Gaomiaoba Cultural Square
Gaomiaoba Cultural Square, the largest village-level cultural square in Chongqing, is crafted from locally sourced mountain stones. This vibrant square is perfect for strolls, sports, or joining local aunties for lively nighttime dancing. It also serves as a central venue for numerous town events.
Guniubei Hiking Trail
Located in Yongsheng Village, Guofu Town, approximately 5 kilometers from Gaomiaoba, the Guniubei Hiking Trail is named for its steep, red-hued ridge that resembles a cow’s backbone. This thrilling trail, often dubbed Qijiang’s “Huashan” due to its dramatic and daring nature, features a narrow spine with widths ranging from just 20 centimeters at its narrowest to 80 centimeters at its widest.
The Guniubei Hiking Trail spans roughly 14 kilometers with a 600-meter elevation gain, typically requiring about 6 hours to complete.
Lacking guardrails, the trail demands caution, especially when walking, and should be avoided during wet conditions to ensure safety.
