Jiufeng Yaochi Trail – Chongqing’s Mini Jiuzhai Valley
Jiufeng Yaochi Highlights
Located in the western part of Chongqing’s Jiufeng Town, Jiufeng Yaochi, or Nine Phoenix Jasper Lake, is often dubbed Chongqing’s “Mini Jiuzhai Valley.” While it may not rival the world-renowned Jiuzhai Valley—a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its breathtaking waters—Jiufeng Yaochi has its unique charm.
The trail features nine enchanting ponds, each showcasing distinct beauty and transforming into vibrant hues with the changing seasons. Hiking trails wind through Jiufeng Mountain, offering options for leisurely strolls along the road or focused visits to the main attraction area.
It can be accessed all year round, but the best time to explore Jiufeng Yaochi is early fall, when golden leaves harmonize with the crystal-clear, jade-like waters, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.
