The concert takes place on the prime waterfront stage on Nanbin Road—a prime location that previously served as a venue for the CCTV Spring Festival Gala.

The weekly show features a two-part lineup:

  • Symphonic Classics: The Chongqing Opera House (Chongqing Symphony Orchestra) takes the stage to perform classical and modern masterworks, including Lights of China (灯火中国).
  • Original Youth Voices (“Sound Wave China”): A vibrant showcase for emerging musicians and original compositions.

The August 21 launch features pop singer-songwriter Liu Fengyao performing his hit track Mr. Sense (感官先生) alongside singer Zhang Zhitong debuting her latest original track.

Cultural Markets & Audience Participation

Beyond the main musical performances, the event offers several immersive experiences:

  • Music & Creative Night Market: Collaborating with nearby hot spots like Changjiahui and Danzishi Old Street, the area hosts night markets featuring intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, creative goods, street arts, and local snacks.
  • Global Theme Song Callout: Organizers are launching a global open submission process for the official “Night of Chongqing” theme song.
  • Open Stage Channel: Local performers, folk artists, and cultural heritage presenters can submit proposals for a chance to perform directly on the main stage.
