Things to Do at Wulong Qinglong Gorge

Avoid the side route leading to the hiking trails, as it has been closed due to safety concerns.

The water canal is not an official scenic spot. During flood season, there is a high risk of flash floods. The outer wall of the power station canal is narrow, steep, and prone to falling rocks.

For your safety, tourism, sightseeing, and outdoor adventure activities are strictly prohibited in this area, and unauthorized access is not permitted.

Swimming is possible provided with good weather conditions. Take precautions. Swim at your own risk. No on-site lifeguards. Do not go inside the valley.

Wulong Qinglong Gorge

Hiking

Qinglong Gorge in Chongqing’s Nanchuan District offers an ideal setting for a scenic short hike.

Starting from the parking lot, the trail takes you past a historic suspension bridge from the Republican Era and leads up to a serene creek, perfect for soaking in the natural beauty of Qinglongxia.

Camping

Right across from the parking lot, a private campground provides convenient amenities, including food options, restrooms, and well-maintained camping spots, making it an ideal base for your adventure.

Swimming

At the end of the paved trail, you’ll find a small pond suitable for swimming, but only under specific conditions: on clear, rain-free days with no recent rainfall and when the creek’s water level is low.

Swimming is at your own risk in this wild water area, as there are no on-site lifeguards. Exercise extreme caution and take all necessary safety precautions.

Viewing

Qinglong Gorge is great for marveling at a spectacular karst landscape, where dramatic limestone cliffs, verdant valleys, and intricate rock formations create a stunning natural masterpiece.

Qinglong Gorge is pet-friendly.

You may be able to fly your drone here. No active signs prohibit the fly of a drone.
