Being at the hub of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River, Chongqing is situated at a key geolocation in Southwest China.
During the 19th century, China became a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society. A semi-colonial and semi-feudal system is used to describe a society under the influence of a foreign power, but still maintains its own traditional system to some extent. Through a series of unequal treaties, Chongqing was forced to open its port.
Next, head to the Former Site of Lidele Foreign Firm. This firm was built by a British businessman man Lidele, and was Chongqing’s earliest foreign firm, symbolizing the entrance of foreign investment in China’s southwest interior region.
After, you can go up to the viewing deck to enjoy the beautiful and scenic city skyline of Chongqing. You can also view the Dongshuimen Bridge and the cable car from this viewing deck.
After taking pictures, go downstairs via the bamboo-made tunnel to finish this journey.
You can continue to discover Nanbin Road as it has many other attractions.
