Pedaling Through Neon Magic: Night Biking Beibin Road in Chongqing
What to expect?
Nothing beats cruising along Beibin Road at night.
We’ve done it countless times, and it never gets old.

This scenic bike trail delivers jaw-dropping city views on smooth, well-paved paths through riverside parks—perfectly safe, beginner-friendly, and just challenging enough with gentle ups and downs to keep your heart pumping and knock out your daily exercise.

As you pedal, you’ll glide past Chongqing’s most iconic landmarks: the towering Chongqing IFS, the stunning confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers, and the futuristic twin towers of Raffles City.

You’ll feel the full force of Chongqing’s legendary “8D magic”—skyscrapers soaring overhead, bridges arching like ribbons, and the rivers shimmering below.
Time your ride for a Saturday night, and you’ll catch the city’s award-winning drone show (Chongqing Drone Show Schedule 2026).
Over 5,000 drones light up the sky in dazzling patterns right above the river confluence—it’s an unforgettable bonus!
The route also treats you to Chongqing’s famous Two Rivers Four Banks night views, Nanbin Road, the glowing Qiansimen Bridge, and the vibrant Hongya Cave lit up like a lantern. You will also ride in front of Chongqing Science & Technology Museum, which I also recommend as a family visit place. Trust me—there’s zero excuse not to experience this.
Best part? You don’t even need your own bike — rentals are super affordable and easy to find.
Bike Rentals: Easy & Budget-Friendly
Got your own wheels? Awesome.
No bike? No problem.
Beibin Road is lined with rental spots.
Head to the shops along the main path (especially near popular starting points like around the N37 Bridge area or Jiangbei riverside spots). Many rent bikes for just 5 RMB per hour — insanely cheap for the quality.

We love renting from a friendly shop Tafeng outdoor (踏风户外) run by a generous owner lady. She preps everything: attaches handy bags for your water bottle and phone, and even hooks up a front light for safe night riding. Super thoughtful!
Rental Tips
Time is charged by the hour (70 minutes rounds up to 2 hours), so plan to make the most of it—ride out and back, or linger for photos.
Return to the same spot when done — simple and hassle-free.
The Route: Simple, Scenic, and Impossible to Get Lost
Start from the Bike trail entrance.
You’ll hit a gentle downhill that leads straight onto the dedicated cycling trail.
The path is shared with pedestrians, but it’s wide, clearly marked, and packed with fellow cyclists—everyone’s chill and respectful.

Once you’re on the main trail, it’s almost foolproof: just keep heading toward Raffles City and Hongya Cave.
Highlights Along the Way:Sweeping neon-lit skyline and river reflections
- Passing under dramatic bridges with light rail gliding above
- Epic views of Hongya Cave glowing across the water
- The magical confluence where two rivers meet, framed by skyscrapers
- That unbeatable “Chongqing vibe”—futuristic, chaotic, and utterly alive
The trail stretches several kilometers (often 10–20 km round-trip depending on how far you go), with flat sections, a few mild inclines, and plenty of spots to stop for photos or catch your breath. It’s perfect for sunset starts that transition into full night magic.

Ready to try it? Grab a bike, hit Beibin Road at dusk, and let Chongqing’s lights pull you in. It’s more than a ride — it’s pure magic on two wheels.
