The museum complex includes five unique sites: the main museum, the Baiheliang: World’s Only Underwater Museum Awaits, the Song Qingling Memorial Hall, the Tushan Kiln Site, and the Three Gorges Cultural Relics Technology Protection Center.
With over 115,900 artifacts (approximately 280,000 individual pieces) across 35 categories, the collectionis as diverse as it is fascinating. From ancient relics to modern exhibits, there’s something to captivate everyvisitor.
The museum’s 13 permanent exhibitions are a highlight, with standout displays like Magnificent Three Gorges, Ancient Ba-Yu, and Chongqing: The City’s Journey.
These exhibits weave together the story of the Three Gorges region, the ancient Ba-Yu culture, and Chongqing’s evolution into a bustling metropolis. Additionally, the museumhosts 20–30 temporary exhibitions annually, ensuring there’s always something new to discover.
