Nestled in Chongqing’s Liangjiang New Area, Jinhaiwan Park stretches approximately 17 kilometers along the picturesque Jialing River shoreline, covering a planned area of 4,200 mu (about 280 hectares).
This vibrant park seamlessly blends waterfront culture, repurposed industrial relics, and an ecological corridor, showcasing the region’s rich natural beauty.
A standout feature of Jinhaiwan Park is its well-crafted trail, originally designed for pedestrians but now a haven for biking enthusiasts.
This paved, colorful trail offers a peaceful and comfortable cycling experience, complete with designated directional lanes, water stations, restrooms, and vendors supplying water, snacks, and biking essentials (more cycling tracks in Chongqing).
The trail is beginner-friendly, with the first 17 kilometers being notably flat, featuring a total ascent of just 133 meters (mostly in the final section) and a descent of 125 meters.
While most visitors opt for a leisurely 5-kilometer ride, adventurous cyclists can extend their journey up to 40 kilometers.
Bike shops along the route provide convenient support for any maintenance needs.

Cycling
Jinhaiwan Riverside Park is well-known for its amazing cycling opporunity. Ride along the 17 kilometeres of well-maintained flat track, beginner friendly, and encounter with many amazing videws along the shore of Jialing River.

Hiking
Jinhaiwan Riverside Park offers great hiking opporunities, especially for beginners who would like to get into the hiking world. With flat, paved hiking routes, and many restrooms and waterstations along the route, you will find this hiking experience very pleasant. On top of that, you can walk around the many sections of the park, and enjoy the natural beauty of Chongqing’s Jialing River.
Viewing
Visitors can explore diverse landscapes, including the Jialing River, mountains, rocky beaches, cliff walls, valleys, grassy meadows, green valleys, and babbling streams, creating a serene escape from urban life.
Camping
Although Jinhaiwan Riverside Park isn’t designed specially for camping, however, there are many campgrounds along the trail.

Jinhaiwan Riverside Park offers plenty of spaces for outdoor sports. Though no dedicated sports facilitiy, but you can play casual sports here.
Fishing
Jialing River is under a 10 year no fishing ban. Fishing from the river is not permitted.
Swimming
Do not attempt to swim in Jialing River.
The river’s strong currents, unpredictable depths, and potential hazards have tragically led to loss of life.

Ask bike rental shop if you can return at a different location down the trail.

Accessibility
Jinhaiwan Riverside Park’s walking trail is flat, making it possible for people with mobility needs. Some sections may have ongoing constructions blocking a small section of road, but other than that, it remains very accessible.
